Greetings, Ignio users! Congratulations on taking the big step in downloading the Ignio app and starting to live and track your faith in the social media realm.
Once you’ve signed up for the app and created a login name, you have access to all of Ignio’s features. The most important one, the heart of the app, is the Ignio candle flame. Tapping the candle logo at the bottom of your screen when the app is open will show you the candle itself, and if you’ve just downloaded it, you will find it unlit.
To light it, you can do one of two things:
- Find another Ignio user with a candle that is lit, tap the “Bump Phones” button at the top left of the screen when the candle is showing and follow the instructions on your screen. After bumping phones, your candle should be lit.
- If you don’t know anyone with a lit candle but they do have the app downloaded, you can still bump phones with an unlit user and “create a spark” between the two of you that will light both of your candles. The instructions are the same as the option above.
Here are the instructions for either creating a spark between two unlit users or passing on a lit flame to an unlit candle:
Open the app and tap the candle in the bottom middle of the screen. The following should show up on your screen once you’ve done so:
Tap the top left of the screen where it tells you to bump phones with a current user. The following screen needs to appear:
It will warm up and eventually show the following:
(If it gets stuck warming up, x out of the bump window and hit the bump button again)
Now, you are ready to bump!
This is where you bump phones. Yes, literally bump phones side by side. In the real world.
Click yes and the following screen should appear (the names will be different but the idea is the same):
6. Click okay, and this is what your lit candle will look like:
7. Congratulations! You just lit your Ignio candle! You can now use the rest of Ignio.
The way Ignio works, you need someone else to have a candle lit. We’ll leave the theological significance of this up to you.
If you need any more information on how to use the app and all of its features, check out the other blogposts dealing with other uses in Ignio.
God bless, and keep using Ignio to keep your candle lit!
