Help in How to Use Ignio in your daily life
You’ve decided to enter the world of Catholic social media and start using Ignio, but how exactly will it fit into your life?
This is a great question and one we all should ask ourselves. Ignio is a different kind of app because it has a direct connection to your spiritual life and has the potential to dramatically bring you closer to God and share that with others.
But how have people been using it?
Over the next few weeks we’ll be posting ways to incorporate the blog into a person’s daily life. Sure, we’re all different- some of us have children, jobs, or neither of those- but we all share a willingness to track and share our faith, and it’s all rooted in a desire to draw closer to God.
So here’s a first suggestion on how to use the app- a challenge if you want to see it that way:
What do you do during breakfast, lunch or dinner and you’re alone? Watch TV, listen to music, text a friend?
Our challenge to you is to replace that activity during your meal to read the daily scriptures found in the app, the same ones that were read at mass that day. Let God speak to you, take your time, eat your meal slowly and be spiritually fed as well. When you’re done eating, just post a comment or a prayer of whatever God has placed on your heart.
Make room for the app, which will help you make room for God in your daily life.
Of course, it doesn’t have to be a meal where you do this, but it needs to be at least 10 minutes to give you enough time to read, reflect, and post. Everybody eats, so why not make it during that time?
Be faithful to this for a month and see what God has done for you in that time.
