Do you have a friend or relative who got an Iphone for Christmas and you can’t be near them to bump phones and light both yours and their candle? This is a great opportunity to get both of your candles lit.
Do you know someone who downloaded the app but couldn’t find another user to bump phones with to light candles? Just follow the instructions below and surprise them with a lit candle.
There are some users out there (you know who you are) who haven’t lit their candle yet for whatever reason and can’t seem to find a way to do so. If you haven’t been able to find a user with a lit or unlit candle to bump phones with (both will suffice to light a candle now), and are all alone with your app, we have a way for you to get your candle and another user’s candle lit as a special promotion for the Epiphany January 6th.
- Find a user (yourself can count as a one) with an unlit candle and who has created a user in the Ignio database. (Basically if you have accessed the app and had your email confirmed, then you qualify).
- Send an email to Ignite@ign.io with the subject line of “Ignite My Candle” and in the text mention only the user’s name and email address of the friend you want to invite, including yourself if you don’t have a lit candle already. You can include yourself in this quest and we will light two candles and count it as one.
- Wait for us to light your candle.
- Start building your circle of Ignio friends as a full-fledged lit-candle Ignio user.
And if you don’t know already, Ignio’s circle of friends is limited to 12, just like Christ’s circle of apostles. So, going with the tradition of twelves in the church and with Ignio, we will light the candles of the first 144 (12 x 12 = 144) emails we receive with the subject of “Ignite My Candle.”
Why the Epiphany though?
On January 6, 2002, Blessed Pope John Paul II said in his homily that day,
“He is the “sun that shall dawn upon us from on high” (Lk 1,78). He is the sun that came into the world to dispel the darkness of evil and flood it with the splendour of divine love. John the Evangelist writes: “The true light that enlightens every man came into the world” (Jn 1,9).”
The Epiphany is about the Light of Christ coming to all peoples and nations. It’s about God wanting to save all, and Gospel being a message of salvation for all. In the spirit of the Epiphany as a conclusion to the Christmas season, we at Ignio are giving users the chance to share the light to another user who may not have had the chance to have their candle lit yet.
With the Ignio app being only a few months old and with the Church calendar well underway, there’s never been a better time to incorporate the app into you spiritual life, and to spread the light of the Gospel to all the world!
